The US and Ukraine have signed a long-anticipated natural resources deal that will see Washington and Kyiv share the profits from the sale of mineral and energy reserves.
The agreement is seen as key to solidifying future US military support for Ukraine.
The deal sets up a new Ukraine reconstruction investment fund that will be paid into by the US.
In return, Washington will get preferential access to the country’s mineral deals.
US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said the deal shows President Trump’s commitment to the peace process.
