Ukrainian banned from competing at Winter Olympics over helmet honouring war dead

Ukrainian skeleton racer Vladyslav Heraskevych has been banned from competing at the Winter Olympics after he insisted on wearing a helmet depicting athletes killed since Russia’s invasion.

The International Olympic Committee claims the helmet violates rules which prevent political statements while athletes are competing.
