The move by some countries – including the UK – to formally recognise the state of Palestine has been criticised by both Israel and the United States.
Speaking to Sky News, former Israeli deputy foreign minister Danny Ayalon said the recognition of Palestine will only hold back ‘peace’ efforts in the region.
