University of Sussex fined £585k for failing to uphold freedom of speech

Sussex University has been fined £585,000 for failing to uphold freedom of speech when philosophy professor Kathleen Stock was forced to leave her job after being accused of transphobia.

The University said it would challenge the record fine by the Office for Students in the courts.
