US and Russia create Ukraine peace team

US and Russian officials have agreed to create a team dedicated to negotiating peace in Ukraine.

This comes after high-level talks in Saudi Arabia, which didn’t include Ukraine but were focused on ending the war there as well as aiming to improve ties.
President Zelenskyy has said he won’t accept an outcome without Kyiv’s involvement.
