Within hours of Joe Biden’s announcement that he was dropping out of the presidential race and endorsing the vice-president, a series of abortion rights activists spoke out to back Harris. She has visited abortion clinics on the campaign trail and described the 2022 overturning of Roe v Wade as a ‘healthcare crisis’.
