Khalil was a student activist at Columbia University when he was removed from his home in New York detained in March. He was held in an ICE detention centre in Louisiana for more than 100 days.
In his first interview with a UK broadcaster, Mahmoud Khalil tells ITV News that his arrest was "the heaviest moment" of his life and describes what life was like inside the detention facility.
