A US submarine has sunk an Iranian warship with a torpedo in international waters, US defence secretary Pete Hegseth has said.
The incident took place in the Indian Ocean off the Sri Lankan coast and footage was released by the Department of War.
The defence secretary did not name the ship during a Pentagon briefing, but earlier Sri Lanka’s navy confirmed that it has rescued 32 people after receiving a distress call from Iranian navy ship ‘IRIS Dena’.
