CCTV footage played in court showed the killer walking around the city in the hours before the attack. His first victims were Grace O’Malley-Kumar and Barnaby Webber, both 19-year-old Nottingham University students, who were walking home from a night out. Calocane then attacked school caretaker Ian Coates, who was driving past, stabbing him repeatedly.
