On the 80th anniversary of VE Day, veteran Colin Thackery sung an emotional rendition of the hymn ‘I Vow To Thee My Country’.
He was taken out on the River Thames on The Havengore, the boat that carried Sir Winston Churchill’s coffin at his state funeral.
Mr Thackery achieved fame as the winner of the 2019 series of ‘Britain’s Got Talent’.
The 95-year-old is a Chelsea pensioner and served in the Korean War.
There have been events across the UK this week to mark the 80th anniversary of the end of WWII in Europe – known as VE Day.
