He may have been snatched by US forces and forcibly removed as Venezuela’s president, but Nicolas Maduro was defiant when he appeared in court in New York.
He told the judge, "I am a decent man, the president of my country", as he and his wife pleaded not guilty to narco-terrorism charges in a courtroom a few Manhattan blocks from the court where Donald Trump was found guilty in May 2024.
