An RAF veteran has told GB News how all young people should do full National Service for two years to teach them "self-respect and get them off the streets."
It comes after Labour MP and ex-Royal Marine Alex Ballinger Andy Burnham to reintroduce National Service, modelling it on Finland’s conscription system to address escalating Russian threats.
Speaking to Patrick Christys, the veteran – who was part of the GB News studio audience – said: "We went off to the war. We were led to believe perhaps we wouldn’t be coming back. But we accepted it because we wore the uniform. I think kids need to get the uniform, learn some self-respect and get them off the streets."
He added: "We need to teach them all this discipline."
