The president of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, has said he is not “afraid” of Donald Trump, unlike other western leaders.

Speaking to Guardian foreign correspondent Luke Harding in an exclusive interview, Zelenskyy dismissed reports that his and Trump’s last meeting in Washington was volatile, adding that he had good relations with the US president.
He says his relationship with the US president is businesslike and constructive, and he is driven to keep going by the love he has for his country.
The interview took place after devastating Russian strikes on the country’s energy grid, which led to power cuts across most of Ukraine on Sunday. During the conversation, the lights went out twice.
