Voters head to the polls in crucial Gorton and Denton by-election

Voting is taking place in the Gorton and Denton by-election. Polling stations close at 10pm and the result is expected to be known at around 4am tomorrow. The election in the Greater Manchester seat was brought on by the resignation, due to ill health, of the former Labour MP Andrew Gwynne.
