Washington DC plane crash: We 'don't know' if there are survivors, fire chief says.

Officials held a news conference following a collision between a passenger plane and a helicopter over Washington DC.

Senator Roger Marshall says it is a "When one person dies, it’s a tragedy but when many, many, many people die, it’s an unbearable sorrow", and fire chief John Donnelly says they "don’t know" if there are any survivors.

Mayor of Washington DC Muriel Bowser says firefighters are "executing a rescue operation in the Potomac River".
