Iran’s new Supreme Leader is wounded and "cowering underground", US Secretary of Defence Pete Hegseth has claimed, as the conflict neared its two-week mark.
Mojtaba Khamenei made his first statement as Ayatollah this week, but no video or audio was supplied.
Hegseth said the US had struck 15,000 enemy targets, stating that Friday would once again be the heaviest day of its attack on Iran, with fighters and bombers "picking targets as they choose" in Tehran.
The Middle East conflict is showing no signs of slowing down, with US President Donald Trump saying there were "relentless" strikes planned for Iran.
"We’re going to be hitting [Iran] very hard over the next week," Trump said in an interview with Fox News on Friday.
