Disgraced celebrity police officer Paul Street has been jailed at the Old Bailey for four years after asking for an intimate video of a female suspect.
Street, who found fame in television crime shows on the BBC and Channel 4, was found guilty of two charges of misconduct in a public office after being investigated for creating a "toxic" culture in WhatsApp groups.
He had previously admitted two offences of unlawful disclosure of personal data relating to information and screenshots he sent to his partner in 2020.
Street encouraged colleagues to “bully” a teenage detainee and asked a workmate to send him a sex video of a female suspect, the Old Bailey heard.
Street was working at Cambridgeshire Constabulary at the time, leading a unit at Cambourne Police Station which mainly dealt with county lines drug supply and organised crime.
In April 2020 Street made "derogatory comments" about a 17-year-old detainee after he was arrested and strip searched, the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) said.
He then encouraged violent behaviour, telling his team to “please hit him” and “smash his head in” and recorded a video where he threatened to damage the teenager’s family home.
