Watch Kay Burley live, as headline inflation in the UK has fallen to 7.9% – down from May’s figure of 8.7%.
This is a bigger drop than expected, with analysts expecting a figure of 8.2% this month – this is likely due to a drop in food and fuel prices.
Core inflation, which excludes the more volatile figures around food and fuel prices, has fallen from 7.1% to 6.9%.
This represents the lowest figure of 2023, as we began the year on 10.1%.
