New figures show so-called ‘crash for cash’ scams have cost more than 25 million pounds over the last five years.

And ITV News has been given dashcam footage – by police – to highlight the fraudsters’ tactics.

The scams involve criminals deliberately staging collisions – forcing their innocent victims’ insurers to pay out.
