Watch Israel-Hamas war: Israeli forces enter al Shifa Hospital in ‘targeted operation’

In a major development overnight, the Israel Defence Forces launched a "precise and targeted" operation at al Shifa Hospital – the biggest in Gaza.

The IDF has repeatedly claimed Hamas is using the facility for military purposes, and its operation came after the US said it had also seen evidence of the militant group using it for a "command and control mode".

Hamas has denied the allegations, saying it "strongly condemns" the claims and accusing the US of giving Israel the "green light" to target the hospital.
