
Flooding triggered by Hurricane Melissa has killed 25 people in Haiti and has left parts of Cuba underwater after the storm hit the island on Wednesday.
Melissa, one of the strongest Atlantic hurricanes on record, previously hit Jamaica with unprecedented 185mph winds on Tuesday. According to the mayor of Petit-Goâve in southern Haiti, 25 people died when the La Digue river burst its banks and flooded nearby homes.
