
A man charged over a mass stabbing on a busy train in Cambridgeshire, and a separate attack at a London station earlier that day, has been remanded in custody.
Anthony Williams, 32, was charged with ten counts of attempted murder, one count of actual bodily harm, and one count of possessing a bladed article following an attack on the London North Eastern Railway (LNER) service from Doncaster to London King’s Cross on Saturday, according to British Transport Police.
One of the heroes on board the train on Saturday night has told ITV News how he came face to face with the attacker.
Stephen Crean said he tried to hold the knifeman back for as long as he could to help others escape.
He managed to get into a toilet to hide, but not before suffering many injuries to his hand and head.
Meanwhile, a heavily pregnant British teenager has been released from prison after she admitted smuggling drugs into Georgia.
Nineteen-year-old Bella May Culley had been held in jail since May after 12 kilogrammes of marijuana were found in her bags as she entered Tbilisi airport.
