Councils across England have been left scrambling, to reinstate local elections – now just 80 days away – after the latest embarrassing U-turn by central government.
May’s ballots were postponed by a year, for thirty local authorities. Officially, the decision was taken to allow councils to focus on structural changes.
But Reform UK weren’t convinced and they launched a legal challenge.
