A third person has been deported under the government’s ‘one-in, one-out’ deal with France.
Home Office sources said the man, an Iranian, had been returned to France on Friday.
It follows the second deportation of an Eritrean man earlier on Friday, who had arrived by small boat in August.
The deportations come a day after the scheme got underway with the first deportation of a migrant under the new deal.
The "landmark" scheme was agreed in July between France and the UK and seeks to remove those who crossed the English Channel back to the continent.
The government is coming under increased pressure to tackle the small boats crisis, as protests against immigration and the use of asylum hotels have gathered pace in recent weeks.
On Thursday, US President Donald Trump, who has faced criticism for his heavy-handed approach to border enforcement, even suggested Sir Keir Starmer should use the military to curb immigration when asked what advice he would give the PM during his state visit.
