Ever since he began his war on Iran, President Trump has never demonstrated that he knew how it would end.
Having failed in his overnight address to the American public to give any more clues, others are now trying to decide for him.
Iran insisted today it was ready and able to keep on fighting – maintaining that it had secret stockpiles of munitions – and arms factories to keep on making them.
Trump said last night he needs two or three more weeks to bomb Iran back to the Stone Age.
In the meantime, Iran maintains its chokehold on the Strait of Hormuz. Again, no one knows how that will end but the Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper co-ordinated an online meeting of forty countries to discuss how to bring that about.
Also on the programme:
-Oil markets aren’t convinced by Trump that his war is going to end soon or cleanly. The RAC have announced that petrol prices have risen to 16% since the start of the war.
-The funeral director from Hull, who kept long-deceased bodies in his converted warehouse, dramatically changed his plea today to the crimes he hadn’t already owned up to.
-Somewhere above us tonight, the four NASA astronauts heading for the far side of the moon are currently circling the Earth.
