For more than five decades, humanity has left our Moon untouched. But in just a few hours’ time four astronauts aboard the spacecraft Artemis will – weather permitting – set off for our lunar neighbour.
And while they won’t set foot on the lunar surface; they will travel further from the Earth than any other human in history, as they complete a 10 day trip around the Moon.
So, could this herald a new era of space travel for humanity? And has the US entered into a new space race?
