A row has erupted tonight after news emerged that another foreign prisoner, a convicted sex offender, has been released by mistake from a British jail.
The timing could not have been worse for the Government.
The news broke moments after a stormy grilling in the Commons, for the Deputy Prime Minister David Lammy.
He was being questioned about our exclusive interview yesterday with the father of a 14 year old girl who had been sexually assaulted by an asylum seeker.
That asylum seeker was wrongly released, before being recaptured and deported back to Ethiopia.
We understand that the girl’s family remains unhappy about apologies given by the government.
And in another blow for the authorities its been revealed yet another prisoner was released accidentally this week – we’ll have more on that in a moment.
