Argentina’s president Javier Milei is expected to restate his country’s claim to the Falkland Islands in his speech at the UN General Assembly.
Argentina has long-claimed sovereignty of the archipelago, which it refers to as the Malvinas.
That is despite the UK winning a war over the islands in 1982, after Argentina invaded.
The UK government has repeatedly said that the islands will remain British for as long as the Falklanders wish to remain so.
