Watch live - Southport inquiry chair explains how attack could have been prevented

WARNING: This livestream may contain details you might find distressing.

The first report from the inquiry into the Southport attack has found that it could’ve been prevented if the right resources were in place to manage the risk the attacker posed, for more than four years prior.

The report also found that the attack wouldn’t have happened if Axel Rudakubana’s parents had reported everything they knew to authorities.

Alice da Silva Aguiar, nine, Bebe King, six, and Elsie Dot Stancombe, seven, were murdered during the attack at a Taylor Swift-themed dance workshop in 2024.
