Tech companies may soon be required by law to prevent children seeing, sending or sharing nude images. Plans for enforced safeguards could be given the green light by the Government as early as today, with tech bosses facing possible prison sentences if they don’t comply.
The Prime Minister is expected to say that tech companies will be obliged to build in software safeguards or face criminal sanctions.
The Government is also expected to announce and under-16 ban on social media within days.
The PM will also pledge that no community is left behind in the “tech revolution” as he unveils new AI tools aimed at helping jobseekers get into work.
