Thousands are expected to attend the Trooping the Colour parade and ceremony today in London, which will be attended by King Charles III. The nearly 200-year-old custom takes its name from a historical parade designed to help soldiers recognise their regiment’s ‘colours’ ahead of battle.
The King will become the first monarch in more than 30 years to take part in Trooping the Colour on horseback this morning.
