Donald Trump is due to touch down at London’s Stansted Airport for his historic second state visit to the UK.
The US President called the King "an elegant gentleman" as he left Washington on Air Force One earlier.
Speaking to reporters on Tuesday afternoon, Trump described the King as “my friend” and noted it was “the first time it has ever happened where somebody was honoured twice” with a state visit.
He called the state visit "a great honour," adding this time the visit was at Windsor rather than Buckingham Palace.
“My relationship is very good with the UK, and Charles, as you know, who’s now King, is my friend," Trump said.
