The prime minister suggested he was misled by his former communications chief, who became a central part of the questions in the House of Commons after he had the whip removed on Tuesday for his ties to a paedophile councillor.
Starmer answered the first question on his judgment, posed by Conservative Party leader Kemi Badenoch, by saying he "accepted responsibility and apologised" for the mistakes he has made.
