US President Donald Trump and Israel together are responsible for killing "thousands and thousands" of people, a senior Hezbollah politician has told ITV News.
In the exclusive interview, Hussein Hajj Hassan said that the recent escalation in Lebanon stems from Israel’s continued military actions in the region.
"The Iranians said, if you attack the south suburbs of Beirut, Iran will respond. So, yesterday, Israel attacked the south suburb of Beirut, and Iran attacked Israel," he said.
"Why? The alliance between the United States and Israel is very clear, and Iran is our ally, and they help us," he added.
Hezbollah, an Iran-backed group, has been involved in the recent conflict in the region, which broke out after joint US-Israeli attacks on Iran in February this year.
It still holds significant power in Lebanon, despite being weakened by an Israeli campaign in 2024.
