Donald Trump has ordered the repositioning of two nuclear submarines "just in case", in response to an "inflammatory" tweet from Russia’s former president.

Dmitry Medvedev, who is also Deputy Chair of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, tweeted that Trump’s threats to sanction Russia were "a threat and step towards war".
In an interview with to Newsmax, the US President confirmed the submarines would be moved "closer to Russia".
