Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu has met the US vice president in Israel.
JD Vance expressed his excitement to work "together" on the Gaza peace plan.
He mentioned "the tough task ahead" – to "disarm Hamas but rebuild Gaza, to make life better for the people in Gaza. But also to ensure that Hamas is no longer a threat to our friends in Israel."
Netanyahu also reaffirmed the US-Israel partnership.
He said Israel does not control the United States and vice versa – but instead both countries have a "partnership, an alliance of partners who share common values, common goals."
