Shadow attorney general Emily Thornberry says one of the fundamental problems with the police is a "lack of trust that particularly women had" and there needed to be a "change of culture" in policing.
The Labour MP said police officers who had been accused of domestic violence should be suspended, as she welcomed the government’s latest legislation to toughen up the disciplinary process for officers who are found guilty of gross misconduct.
