Many people will be returning to work or school today, with the Met Office warning that cold conditions would bring a range of wintry hazards for the next few days.
Temperatures overnight into Monday fell as low as -9.3C (15F) in Benson, south Oxfordshire, bringing the risk of icy conditions on the roads.
