Weekend heatwave made ‘100 times more likely’ by climate change, warn scientists

Scientists have warned that this weekend’s dangerous heatwave in southeast England has been made "a hundred times more likely" by climate change.

There have already been several days of high temperatures, predicted to reach 32 celsius on Saturday.

Researchers said June heatwaves are now more likely and more intense – and are already between 2 and 4 celsius hotter than in the past.
