West Midlands chief constable to retire after Maccabi Tel Aviv row

The independent police watchdog said tonight it will continue to look into the actions of West Midlands police and the decision to ban the Maccabi Tel Aviv fans.

The Home Secretary Shabana Mahmoud said the chief constable of West Midlands Police Craig Guildford had done the right thing by retiring – while the British Board of Deputies said strong working relations with the police were vital for the security of Jewish communities.
