
Millions of Americans are facing food insecurity after the Trump administration suspended the nation’s food aid program at the beginning of November. The Administration cited the ongoing government shutdown as the reason. After a federal court ruled the suspension illegal, the White House said the program would be partially funded – yet more than 40 million Americans using the program have gone almost a week without receiving any benefits.
DW’s Ines Pohl traveled to Minnesota, where 7% of the population relies on federal food benefits known as SNAP, to see what impact this is having on struggling families.
