What are the origins of the Paralympic Games? | ITV News

Around 65,000 people lined the streets of Paris to witness the opening ceremony for the 2024 Paralympics.

But how did we get here?

Well, the Paralympic movement began back in 1948 at the Stoke Mandeville hospital, in Buckinghamshire.

Little more than a decade later and the Paralympic Games were born.
