Flash floods in Nepal and Tibet have left a horrifying trail of destruction, with around 1,400 people missing and at least 389 confirmed dead. Some bodies were found hundreds of miles from the disaster zone and experts warn a newly-formed lake could trigger another flood.
There is a desperate race to find any more survivors, as climate experts also try to understand how the disaster happened.
With roads and bridges destroyed, getting to the affected areas is proving slow and power is out in many places. Those flying in describe whole settlements simply gone, with no idea how to find the people who were there. As well as those who lived in the valley, there are hundreds of foreign tourists still missing.

For now, thousands of bewildered families are homeless and waiting to hear if their loved ones are found.
Climate experts say the disaster was sparked by a glacial collapse, as satellite images show a large mass of glacier ice that appears to have detached from the mountainside, triggering what is known as an ice avalanche.
Warning: this report contains distressing footage.
