Storm Chandra has disrupted much of the UK, bringing with it strong winds and heavy rainfall. Southern England has recorded record amounts of rainfall, with the south-west the worst affected area.
The Environment Agency issued the severe flood warning, meaning danger to life, in Dorset – and has called upon the public to ‘remain vigilant’.
In Hampshire, a lorry driver has died in the New Forest, after crashing into a river on Tuesday (27th January) in the aftermath of the storm. Hampshire Police have said the man, who was in his 60s, was pronounced dead at the scene of the incident in North Gorley.
