China’s President has wrapped up his state visit to the US with tea at the White House, followed by a tour of the National Archives. Donald Trump said the US and China had made "tremendous strides" and Xi Jinping said he and his wife were "very satisfied" with the trip.

But while there were warm words and much pomp and ceremony, as yet, little of substance has emerged from this highly-anticipated visit.
