NASA astronauts have released a new photo of Earth from space and sent a message back home to their families.
On Friday they left the Earth’s orbit – something astronauts have not done since 1972.
The Artemis II mission will be a 10-day trip around the moon and back, without landing on the moon’s surface.
Nasa has said Artemis II will help "explore the moon for scientific discovery, economic benefits, and to build the foundation for the first crewed missions to Mars".
If successful, it will pave the way for Artemis III, currently planned for 2027, which aims to land astronauts on the moon using a lunar-lander version of SpaceX’s Starship rocket.
