What happens next after the US House and Senate vote to release the Epstein files? | ITV News

The US House of Representatives and the US Senate have passed a bill that would force the Justice Department to publicly release files on the convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

The House voted 427-1 to pass the measure, meaning the bill could move to the US Senate.

Within hours, the Senate had also passed the bill, sending the legislation to US President Donald Trump, who had initially opposed it.

Trump will now need to sign the bill for it to become law.

If he does so, the bill would likely allow information about Epstein’s victims or continuing federal investigations to be redacted.
