President Trump signed an executive order on his first day in office to get rid of birthright citizenship – the legal right for anyone born on American soil to become a US citizen even if their parents are undocumented.

But the plan was blocked by lower courts and its now ended up in the Supreme Court – the highest court in the US – to decide whether to green light the president’s controversial plan.
