At least 60,000 people have crossed into Ceuta, the tiny Spanish territory in North Africa which borders Morocco.
The initial influx of migrants completely overwhelmed local authorities and Spain has since deployed the military to try and contain the situation.
Spain’s interior minister said that at least half of the people who crossed in Ceuta have now returned to Morocco, but what is behind the crisis?
