What is the cybersecurity issue taking websites offline across the world?

More than 50,000 UK organisations have received warnings over their websites, after a "critical security issue" was found by AI.

More than 30 government services are offline and four are partially unavailable to address the potential risk.

The flaws were found in PHP – a globally-used programming language.
